How Payment Works

Processing Fee: Covers Razorpay payment gateway charges (2% + 18% GST). This is non-refundable as it's already paid to the payment provider.

Refund Scenarios Explained

1. Admin Rejection - 100% Refund

If admin rejects your event/opportunity, you get full refund including processing fee.

Example: ₹16 event rejected
→ Refund: ₹16 (100%)
Takes 5-7 business days to reach account

2. Within 30 Minutes - 100% Refund

Made a mistake? Cancel within 30 minutes of payment for full refund.

Example: ₹50 event, cancelled in 15 minutes
→ Refund: ₹50 (100%)

3. Event PENDING (After 30 min) - Base Refund

If you cancel while event is pending admin approval (after 30 min grace period):

  • ✅ Base amount: Refunded
  • ❌ Processing fee: Non-refundable (already paid to gateway)
Example: ₹16 event (₹15.62 base + ₹0.38 processing)
→ Refund: ₹15.62 (base only)
→ Kept: ₹0.38 (processing fee)

4. Event LIVE (Verified) - Proportional Refund

Fair Usage Model: Pay only for days your event was live. Get refund for unused days.

Formula:
Daily Rate = Base Amount ÷ Total Days
Used Days Charge = Daily Rate × Days Live
Refund = Daily Rate × Unused Days
Example: ₹16 event (7 days), cancelled after 3 days
Original Payment: ₹16.00
Base Amount: ₹15.62 (refundable portion)
Processing Fee: ₹0.38 (non-refundable)
Daily Rate: ₹15.62 ÷ 7 = ₹2.23/day
✗ Used 3 days: ₹2.23 × 3 = ₹6.69 (charged)
✓ Unused 4 days: ₹2.23 × 4 = ₹8.93 (refunded)
Total Refund: ₹8.93 (~56% of original)

5. After Deadline - No Refund

Once the deadline passes, the service has been fully delivered. No refunds available.

→ Refund: ₹0 (Service completed)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will I get my refund?

Refunds are processed immediately on our side. Bank transfer takes 5-7 business days - this is standard for all payment gateways in India.

Q: Why is processing fee non-refundable?

The processing fee (₹0.30-0.50) is paid directly to Razorpay payment gateway for transaction processing. Once paid, it cannot be recovered - this is industry standard practice.

Q: Can I get refund if event is live for 1 day?

Yes! You'll get proportional refund for all unused days. If event was live 1 day out of 7, you pay for 1 day and get refund for 6 days.

Q: What if admin takes too long to approve?

While pending approval, you can cancel anytime (after 30 min grace period) and get base amount refunded. Only processing fee is kept.

Q: How do I cancel my event?

Go to "My Events" dashboard, find your event, and click the "Cancel" button. You'll see the refund breakdown before confirming.
